All Good Things Come To An End

This is it, folks ... this is the last official day of 365puppy. When I started this blog, I wanted to document Dexter's first year and today Dexter Morgan (and all the Peanut Gang) are one year old. I didn't always get a photo up every day, because I sure underestimated how difficult that would be, but I did my best to chart his growth and his progress in photos.

It's hard to believe that this little peanut


Is now this handsome young adult!


Who knew he'd turn out so darn well? And so good lookin' too :)

He is now one year old, 40lbs and almost 23" at the shoulder. He's a lean machine, full of heart, full of try, and full of wonderfully, snuggly love. He's turning into a FANTASTIC dog, and I'm looking forward to many more years of discovery with my GiraffeDog!

Happy Birthday to ALL the Peanuts Gang - Ace, Ally, Cricket, Gin, Hoot, Paddy and Sagan.

Thanks to all of you for sharing this journey with us. I'm not going to be posting daily, or even quasi-daily updates anymore - this is it. From time to time, I will throw up an update, or a photo I particularly like, and for the next few days I will be posting new photos of Dex's siblings so you can see what everyone looks like now ... but if you want to continue to see Dex on a regular basis, you'll have to visit him, and the rest of the gang, at Wootube.

The Unexpected Dexter

On our walk this morning I turned around and fired off this accidental shot of Dex leaping over a pile of rocks.


He could have easily gone around them, but why go around them when you just leap over them? He is such an enthusiastic dog!

Dexter Stands On Stuff Deux

A few posts ago on Wootube I talked about how Dexter had started jumping up to stand on "stuff"

He is still jumping up to stand on stuff.

My neighbours stood up this old pallet to practice knife throwing (don't ask).


It's been there for a couple of weeks. We walk past it maybe 4 or 5 times a day on walks. Dex has always ignored it, but today, he decided to jump up on it.

Now keep in mind, at NO TIME did I ask him to do this. I was just walking along with all 8 dogs and he threw himself up there.

Attempt #1:


He misjudged and ended up throwing himself over the other side.

So he came back around and tried again:


The end result?


He still regularly jumps up on the trampoline on his own volition too.

Does anyone else have a puppy that just jumps up on things as high as your head? Or is it just mine??
