If Dexter had uppy ears

they'd look like this:

But he doesn't. His ears are floopsy.

Even though they're trying to be uppy.

Brother Paddy (was Charlie) has uppy ears though.

Do you mind? This is a private moment.

  1. The ears may still go up. Mellie's were floopsy until teething. They are now, er, ambidextrous -- she can put them up, one being a bit better than the other -- when really excited, but they mostly live at a half-break. They are also completely prehensile, like her tail, and so are very, very expressive.

These are just gorgoues puppies and my personal vibe, not that I am remotely woowoo, is that Dexter is going to be a rockin' agility dog.

  2. ZOMGSQUEEDGHJAO!

    I'm speechless.

Kota's ears have been changing almost daily for the last 3 months. One day they're up, the next they're down. then they're out sideways, then they're flopped forwards.

The cutest was just the other day when he came out of the sea with one up and the other down. then he shook and when he'd finished his ears had swapped!

  3. I've been studying Dexter's structure ever since the structure comment, and all I have to say is

ZOMGSQUEEDGHJAO -- what does that mean?

all I have to say is that his structure looks nice in these pics, so either the pics are missing something or the other pups were structurally incredible!

What comment are you referring to? I've never made any observations on Dex's structure, so I can't answer your question!

  5. So much for my so called sense of humor. Someone else wrote "ZOMGSQUEEDGHJAO -- what does that mean?" and it interrupted my train of thought. I would still like to know what ZOMGSQUEEDGHJAO means....

As for his structure, you wrote in "So Long, Farewell":
"3. his markings and structure don't appeal to me as much as, say, Franklin's do."

He looks good to me. So far. In a blur and all.

Lol, that means I am utterly lost for sensible words and have resorted to burbling.

Oh yes - I didn't mean to imply there was something wrong with Dexter's structure, rather that I preferred the thinner, lighter boned structure of Franklin to Dexter's bigger, heavier frame. Franklin looked like he was going to be a smaller male, and I would have preferred that to a larger dog!

  8. Thanks, CDB! Actually... makes sense. :)

Sheena, I see. I do like the small zippy ones myself, but I know some GREAT flyball and agility dogs who are on the bigger side, too. Besides, someone needs to be as big as Tweed.
