Camera gear for sale
Dear Readers,
I find myself in financial straits and desperate times call for desperate measures.
Wootube and 365puppy have been great fun for me, and hopefully for you. But all good things must come to an end.
Maybe one of you wants to take up the gauntlet of providing fun posts and decent photos to the world. If so, I have a camera package for you!
Please email me for a complete list of the items I have available. I prefer to sell as a package. The Food Lady needs to pay the rent :(
I will miss you all.

We Are Family IV
Today Dexter "Shorty" Morgan is 6 months old.
You can track his growth relative to his family here at 5 months, here at 4 months and here at almost 3 months. I will try to continue taking a monthly family shot until he is a year old.
Remember to click on the photo so you can actually see all the dogs in the shot!

The Low Down
Perhaps Dexter is physically incapable of standing up straight!
Didn't his mother ever tell him that if he keeps it up, it'll stay that way?
I used to call him "Legs" but now his nickname is "Shorty."
But the bigger question than "Where are his legs?" is "Where are his balls?"
Seriously. I left Dexter intact because I got tired of hearing from people that dogs neutered at a young age are taller than dogs who aren't. Since Dexter is the tallest of the bunch, and the only one who is intact, he is either a lousy control, or that old myth needs to be laid to rest.
However ... Dexter has no more testicles than any of his neutered brothers. He's almost 6 months old and there is no evidence that he's ever going to invite them out of hiding to greet the sun either. When I took him for his wellness exam and vaccinations, the vet wrote "neutered" on his sheet - when I said "actually, he's not neutered" the vet asked me if I was sure about that. He did a little groping, and asked me again.
Crud. But he was only 15 weeks old then, so I didn't think much of it. Now here we are a couple months later and I'm starting to think Dexter is a natural eunuch. I did some internetz surfing and learned that no two vets have the same opinion on when testicles should appear. I've read everything from they should be visible at 8 weeks, to give the dog a year or so, to if they don't stand up and wave at you by 4 months, they are never showing up at all.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with late bloomers, as it were?

All the world's a stage
Doesn't it look like I took these in front of a backdrop instead of real scenery?
In this one, he's trying to sneak up on his sister. He thinks she can't see him in the tall grass.
In this one, he is trying to let you know that only half of you obeyed the Tips Down directive, because that ear is pointing to the heavens forever, my friends. The other one has no such aspirations.
I do realize I missed a couple of days. While I try really hard to keep up with the 365 theme, sometimes I just can't get a photo or a chance for a photo!

Get out of our blueberry fields!
Just about every day we walk way back to the end of our property, along the river and through the blueberry fields. Today we discovered workers in the fields for the first time. I'm not actually sure we are allowed to walk back there, so we did a quick about face and left.
Dexter's recall is so good! He comes flying when I call.

Oh brother
Brother Sean is staying with us for the week. As you can see, he is a perfectly normal sized puppy with symmetrical ears and a cute little EVEN heart on his forehead.
Dexter, OTOH, is ginormous, with beady little peepers and ears that defy description.
Phooey. Tips all over the place, Dex.
They are getting along quite well.
You know what they say ...
The family that excavates together
...plays together
Sean is hanging out with us until Friday, when he goes off to his new forever home. He's going to be a real live working sheepdog!
I WANNA WORK THE WOOLIES!
Well, after he plays with Dexter.

Do you ear what I ear?
I was pretty sure that Dexter's ears were going to end up 3/4 tipped, standing up on the bottom and flopping over at the tips. His siblings who went uppy-eared did it a long time ago. But for the last day or so, the left ear has decided it need to stand tall and proud. And so we have a new ear set.
He is in the middle of teething (he has way too many canine teeth in his mouth at the moment) so it's possible the ear will come back down again. It's also possible the other one will go up, or they may stay this way (eek!).
Sometimes they both stand up. They are simply too large to do this! I want every one of you to go home and write "Tips Down, Dex" 50 times please!
